Rochester Child Support Attorney Discusses Shared ResidencyAs an experienced Rochester Child Custody Attorney I am often asked about shared residency.  Many times parents will have children the same exact amount of time. Whether or not there is a child support obligation under that scenario depends upon what the incomes of the parties are. If the parties make virtually the same amount of money, there’s probably not going to be a child support obligation. However, if one of the parents makes significantly more than the other or more than the other, then that parent is typically deemed to be the non-custodial parent for child support purposes and they would have to pay child support to the parent who earns less.
